Prevost pipe chamfering tool: bevel and deburr aluminum air pipe before every joint
Every length of Prevost aluminum pipe you cut has to be chamfered and deburred before it goes into a compression fitting, or the sharp edge nicks the O ring and the joint weeps. This drill driven chamfering tool does both in one pass: chuck it in any cordless drill, push it onto the cut end, and it leaves a clean bevel with the burr removed. Most installers buy the 1/2 to 2 inch head (PPS CHPD50) for a shop system, since it covers every common drop and main size; the single size heads and the 4 and 6 inch heads are for larger plant mains. The manual version (PPS CHP50) covers 1/2 to 2 inch without a drill.
The Prevost system is a cut-and-assemble aluminum pipe rather than threaded or welded pipe, and these are what your crew needs to make clean, leak-free joints. After cutting each length, the end has to be chamfered and deburred with the chamfering tool so it doesn’t nick the O-ring going into the fitting, then a dab of the assembly gel seats the seal, and each fitting is locked down with the correct-size tightening wrench (the 3/4″ and 2″ keys cover the two pipe sizes on this job, plus a universal wrench). These are one-time tools, not per-fitting, so a single set covers the whole install and stays with you for any future additions. See the full Prevost pipe and fittings range.
